Founded October 15, 1904, at the University of Minnesota, Theta Tau is the oldest and largest professional engineering fraternity.

Rho Beta Chapter was colonized on November 5, 1988 and received its charter on November 4, 1989. For the last few years, Rho Beta has been one of the largest chapters of Theta Tau in the country. We are only the professional engineering fraternity at Ohio University.

Theta Tau differs from other organizations. It blends desirable features of general fraternities, technical societies, and honor societies to prepare its student members for the engineering profession. Members of Theta Tau may also belong to these other organizations.
